I find its okay with the language and sexual stuff but shouldn't be for 13 and under. Its a good story with a girl finding herself and learning to accept and endure her past.

I definitely believe that the book is a great one for mature readers.
Re-read the rest of her books. She has somehow written 14 in total, so it should keep you busy for a while. If you cannot re-read all of them in order, which I think is a really worthy summer goal, do a highlights reel. I could just stop. Then when I finished it, I had some time on my hands to get back to the contemporary book and I ended up finishing it. And at this point in my life, I need to play to my strengths. SD: Well, right now, I love how many new voices there are.
So my books were in there next to Corduroy and The Giving Tree. And now, I was just at a conference, and there are people writing from every possible point of view. You have women who are writing about girls with weight problems. You have people writing about other races. The Hate You Give is the 1 book in the country. That, to me, is the most exciting thing. I think other people are realizing it, in other parts of publishing. SD: I would love anything like that. I had a movie, many years ago, in SD: You know, I used to blog a lot.
I had LiveJournal, I did it like 5 days a week … But my daughter was growing up, and it was just a lot of content to be doing. So, it was sort of a bittersweet thing to stop. Twitter is definitely my weapon of choice. And you can start a thread of tweets to make longer points — the li. Every once in a while [a blog post] is just nice, especially to catch people up.
Very bad! But I try to learn from everything, even the disasters. The main thing is to keep at it, even on the bad days. You just have to keep going. I think maybe it would have made me a little more fearless, which I could use sometimes. Ask any of my friends. And as good as it gets, there will inevitably be a bump or two. Just one?
