Answers for the 3 questions! Why God not destroyed Satan? What do you believe, Creation Theory or Evolution Theory? Righteous living without faith simply keeping a certain moral code never leads to righteous standing, whereas righteous standing based on faith always leads to righteous living.
Just keeping a moral code cannot lead to righteous standing because no person is sinless and God gives righteous standing to only those with faith in him Romans Additionally, those without faith in God always break the greatest command:. This is the great and first commandment. On the other hand, righteous standing always leads to righteous living because those with faith in God love and trust him enough to obey him albeit imperfectly and because God works in them to change them Psalm ; Philippians ; Hebrews ; 1 John It may take time to overcome weaknesses and old habits, but the Holy Spirit will produce growth.
For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favor as with a shield. I regard the confusion that this article attempts to address as the result of the bizarre over-emphasis of justification in Protestant Christianity. The apostles also taught sanctification; in fact, they did not regard a person has having been justified if their lives did not exhibit a certain level of personal holiness. They are corrupt…there is none righteous, no not one. The Psalmist does not say that the fool says this with his mouth, He says that the fool says it in his heart.

They grasped equality with God instead of being willing to rest in His guidance and provision.
Those are important goals, but move them off center stage to make room for true righteousness—Jesus. In the Beatitudes, Jesus blesses those who hunger and thirst after righteousness and promises that they will be filled.
In Luke Jesus tells His followers to ask and they will receive, to seek and they will find. I have asked the Lord for many things that He has not given me. Experiences like this can make it easy to brush off the promise that we will receive just because we ask. But righteousness is a safe petition. When we ask and do not receive, it is because we asked for the wrong thing or with the wrong motives.
Righteousness is never the wrong thing to ask for. It is asking for Christ Himself. It is to desire His presence, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. We know that we cannot achieve righteousness through our own logic or efforts. How do we pursue righteous living once we have been given a righteous identity? When he tells us there is no lasting joy or gain achieved through envy, lying, or committing adultery, do we believe Him?

We believe that God is righteous—all His actions and commands conform to the divine law. We have asked to receive the righteousness of God—to reflect the righteousness of Christ and be conformed to His image.
The closer we are conformed to His image, the more we will value what He values and obey when He commands. Righteousness is a huge topic. After all, God is the embodiment of righteousness, and He is infinite! Keep studying. Keep learning. Keep growing in righteousness. What did you learn about righteousness that surprised you? I appreciate the effort and research you put into this and was truly blessed. I was late reading this but knew I would want to save it so I could. It was a really insightful commentary.
